Tuia te Kōrero, Whiria te Tangata - What is the Story?
Tuia te kōrero, Whiria te Tangata references the well-known karakia – Tuia with its focus on acquiring and seeking words, stories, knowledge and wisdom from the past and our ancestors to draw upon. The verb whiria refers to weaving, plaiting and twisting while tuia means to bind and to thread.
During our conference we will promote the power of storytelling through introduction to a wide range of a storytellers, programmes, media and digital platforms. Telling our stories is a vital part of the work we do in the sector. It helps us engage with and attract learners and promote the valuable work we do.
