Neurodiversity presents itself in many ways for the ākonga you work with. In this workshop you will learn more about different types of neurodiversity and how you can help learners to overcome the challenges these conditions can create. We will simplify and demystify this topic – penetrating the labels allowing you to understand this topic in simple and effective terms. Together we will uncover practical strategies to help your neurodiverse learners’ achieve their full potential.

Who is it for?
Any governance members, staff, educators, tutors, kaiako, volunteers in adult and community education.
The workshop is fully funded by the Tertiary Education Commission so there is no cost to attend. Afternoon tea will be provided.
About the facilitator
Nigel Sutton
Nigel has been involved in adult education for the past 17 years and he has worked across the sector; universities, polytechnics, private training establishments and ACE. He has been in the ACE sector for the past seven years as Director at the Wellington High School and Community Education Centre. He is also the President of the Community Learning Association through Schools (CLASS).
