CONFINTEA VI
The sixth International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA 1V) will now be held 1-4 December in Belem, Brazil.
- Education Minister Anne Tolley advised the ACE Strategic Alliance on Tuesday 30 June that, due to budget constraints, she will not be attending and there will not be an official New Zealand delegation.

ACE Networks update
Following last month's Budget announcement, many ACE providers have contacted the TEC to seek clarification about the continuation of ACE Networks.
- All ACE Networks are expected to continue to the end of the 2009 calendar year. All current funding will continue until that date.
- All Networks will be receiving a letter from the TEC in the coming weeks. This will provide information on contract renewal and payments, and information on reporting requirements.
Further information about ACE Networks beyond 2009 will be available later in the year.
New web site for adult literacy and numeracy launched
The University of Waikato has today launched a website to support adult literacy and numeracy. This is part of their work for the TEC in establishing a National Centre of Literacy and Numeracy for Adults. Click here for more information.
