The strategy is an opportunity for individuals in the ACE sector to enhance their skills and for the whole ACE sector to build its capacity and capability, and establish itself as an integral part of the tertiary education system.
It is aimed at integrating professional development into ACE practice at every level over the next five years.
The strategy identifies four main approaches to ACE professional development and contains an action plan prioritising activities.
The four main approaches identified are:
- Development of a sector-led working group that oversees, coordinates and monitors the implementation of the strategy.
- Formation of a core group of people to take a linking role in the sector.
- Identification of ACE skills and competencies requiring professional development.
- Building on ACE Networks and conferences.
