The ACE Sector

The ACE sector in Aotearoa New Zealand is diverse.  It includes:
  • The evening classes provided through secondary schools
  • The services of specialist not-for profit organisations such Literacy Aotearoa and ESOL Home Tutor Schemes
  • The programmes offered by WEAs (Workers Educational Associations)
  • Courses and programmes provided by some polytechnics
  • Courses run through the continuing education departments of universities
  • Iwi-based courses and programmes
  • A very large number of community-based organisations which provide opportunities for adult and community learning.  Some of these might be listed on this website.
