ACE Networks

During 2004 TEC staff initiated the establishment of ACE Networks in designated local areas.

An ACE Network is a collaborative group of local ACE providers and practitioners who support each other to deliver ACE programmes and activities that are responsive to the needs of learners and communities in the network area.

The ACE Networks are supported by a grant from the TEC.  The grant enables the Networks to employ a coordinator, who can be responsible for activities such as:

  • Setting up an email list of ACE professionals and providers, including those which are not funded by the TEC
  • Providing the lead on establishing a structure for the Network, getting a clear vision for the Network and who is responsible for the various activities, including an overall needs analysis, contributing the Regional Facilitation for the tertiary sector - currently led by polytechnics.
Currently the TEC is preparing a Professional Development Resource manual to assist ACE Networks.
