Membership is open to anyone with an interest in lifelong learning and community development.Membership Options and voting rights:
Individual Membership
Any person who is involved in the field of adult and community education is eligible to join as an individual member and has access to all membership rights, and voting rights.Affiliate Membership
Any group or organisation which is involved in the field of adult and community education is eligible to join as an organisation. At the 2006 ACE Aotearoa AGM the following motion was carried and will come into effect prior to the 2007 AGM subject to the approval of the changes by the Companies Registrar.That the ACE Aotearoa AGM change clause 5.3(i) [of the constitution] to read
‘Affiliated members may attend conferences of the Association, have speaking rights and the right to cast one vote’.
Note: Only individual members are eligible to apply for the ALA conference subsidy and to enter the draw for the free ACE Aotearoa conference registration.
Current members include:
National and local organisations and individuals, eg councils; marae; iwi; community houses; community groups; schools; cultural groups; social services; rural, literacy, tertiary and vocational providers; disability sector; churches etc.
