Professional Support
Consideration will be taken to provide relevant and appropriate professional support to ACE providers. More information on this new approach will be updated in the coming weeks.
Knowledge Sharing
The aim is to increasingly share knowledge generated directly as a result of the PD activities. We are also working collaboratively with Ako Aotearoa to identify ACE provider “good practice”, and supporting them to apply through the Ako Aotearoa Organisational Good Practice Publication Grants 2011. Māori and Pasifika Adult and Community Education Professional Development Hui/Fono
The Hui/Fono for Māori and Pasifika practitioners in ACE, was established as a response to providing a safe forum for Māori and Pasifika to identify and undertake professional development. Click here to see more details of Hui/Fono 2011.
ACE Conference
The ACE Sector Conference (17-19 June 2011) provides the same refresh, development and reorient experience for all practitioners/providers. Click here to see more details of the ACE Conference 2011.
ACE through Schools
ACE Aotearoa will continue to support ACE through Schools, and will be convening a workshop in July. The aim is to build schools’ capability in the new direction signalled in the Tertiary Education Strategy.
Outcomes Toolkit
The Outcomes Toolkit is a tool that will enable ACE providers to demonstrate how learner outcomes are achieved. The purpose of developing the ACE outcomes framework is to establish the performance outcomes for ACE providers that answer the key questions:
- “What difference does ACE/our organisation make to our learners?”
- “How does what ACE/we provide contribute to ACE/our outcomes?”
ACEnet Online Community
ACEnet aims to use online tools to support ACE practitioners. The vision is: Sparking, inspiring and leading the ACE sector to connect with people, share and access online resources and tools, and build capacity and capability.
Tutor Training
This is a new approach that will focus on growing access to quality tutor training for ACE practitioners. The intention is to establish a method of providing training for ACE Tutors that is accessible, high quality and provides pathways to further training.
Workshops
To enable more access to the professional development opportunities, ACE Aotearoa will be seeking feedback from the ACE Sector and identifying needs for workshops to be convened.
Research
ACE Aotearoa will be collating existing Research published on Adult and Community Education, and continue to explore future potential research projects.
